Director of the firm

Chandrasen Somah is the Director of the firm and he manages it.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB-UK), a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Chartered Project Management Surveyor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS-UK) and a Professional Quantity Surveyor registered with the Professional Quantity Surveyors’ Council of Mauritius.

Chandrasen has 26 years’ experience in the construction industry.

He has worked 13 years in large and reputable Mauritian and international construction companies and 13 years in reputable Mauritian consultancy firms. Having worked in West Africa and with French companies, Chandrasen has experience of the French systems also.

Chandrasen has worked on different types of construction projects in Mauritius and other African countries such as: Apartments, Luxury Villas,

Affordable/Social Housing, Hotels, Golf Courses, Drinking Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants and Pipelines, Roads and Bridges, Power

Plant, Hospitals, Banks, Markets, Warehousing, Offices and Shopping Centres.

He has also assessed tenders for the Central Procurement Board of Mauritius.

Chandrasen has gained extensive experience in detailed pricing, procurement, cost optimisation, cost controls, risks assessments, resources

planning and procurement, construction management and execution of construction works, during the period he worked in construction

companies. He has worked full time on construction sites for more than 11 years and has been in “trenches”.

His long experience in project management, programming, his exposure in construction companies at site and at construction company’s

management/board level and the extensive training in construction project management, enables him to prevent and/or mitigate delays, variations

and claims for extension of time and additional costs with the collaboration of the projects’ consultant team, contractor and client.

He uses softwares like Construction Computer Software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Argus Developer in delivering the services.

On all projects he is involved, Chandrasen acts like a facilitator who shares his experience with all the parties of the project with the objective of meeting the project’s quality, time and cost targets.

Chandrasen has played football at national level and international level for Mauritius.
